garlicky rice

garlicky rice

  • 1/2 cup rice
  • 11/2 Tablespoon cooking oil (not olive cause it will smoke easily)
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1/8 cup finely chopped onion
  • dash turmeric
  • dash of sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 Tablespoon soy sauce

Wash rice. In the pot with which you will cook your rice stir fry garlic and onion in oil until softened but not bitter. Add turmeric and sugar. When sugar has dissolved, add the rice and stir fry it dry for 2-3 minutes until the rice kernels are coated. Add water and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 20 minutes.

Servings: 2-3
